My interest lies in creating paintings that express mood. The most important element for me is the emotional response the artwork evokes, not its literal detail. I like to tread the dividing line between the representational and abstract, and seek to create a rhythm in the painting with the use of colour. While the work is often based on a “real” location, I will change the structure of the scene to produce my own interpretation.
